7 Accurate SpyDialer Alternatives for Reverse Number Searching

SpyDialer is a great free option for reverse number lookups. It’s easy and fast, making it perfect for curiosity searches.

But, SpyDialer also has its cons (which outweigh the pros, might I add): it only works for US numbers, and the accuracy isn’t that good.

These are 7 of the most budget-friendly alternatives that fix those gaps:

1. CatfishNumr – The Most Accurate & Global Results (Paid)

Click to go to our Image Search page

CatfishNumr is a paid reverse number search service that works worldwide for numbers from over 100 countries, unlike SpyDialer.

$5.95 or $9.95 for up to 5 searches, and you can opt out anytime without signing up. Type the number and press the search button to generate results – the process is anonymous!

  • The real name and photo of the caller
  • Linked social media and messaging apps;
  • Telco details (line and carrier)
  • Risk scoring: see if a number has been reported

CatfishNumr detects VoIP numbers too, and bases its reports on a huge OSINT database of public phone details. Very high accuracy.

🤔 How is CatfishNumr different from SpyDialer?

CatfishNumr is paid (but budget-friendly) and compatible with international numbers. The reports are more accurate and complete because of the costs.

2. NumLookup – Decent Availability (Free & Paid)

numlookup

NumLookup is a site that lets users do number lookups for free and paid, whereas SpyDialer only has a free version. Here’s how it goes:

⚠️ The free version is fairly limited. NumLookup may tell you the name of the number’s holder and partial telco info (mainly carrier and line).

The paid reports ($10-$50 a month) get you more lookups the more you pay. They’re typically more reliable, faster, and produce more results.

NumLookup supports phone searches for more country codes than SpyDialer, but the number of countries is limited: the US, UK, India, Germany, and more.

Similar to SpyDialer, NumLookup also has a risk score feature that assesses numbers’ safety.

3. ThisNumber – Quick, Easy, and International (Free)

The ThisNumber service is the most similar SpyDialer alternative, other than the fact that it works for international as well as American phone numbers.

It is free, lets people search by state, and works for landline/cellphone/VoIP numbers. The following can be found:

  • First & last name and address
  • Spam reports
  • Number type & carrier
  • Social media accounts, and others

📍 ThisNumber is one of the few services that makes it a point to inform users on the specific countries’ carriers, number formats, and relevant sources.

On ThisNumber, the results are sometimes less precise since it’s a free tool, but registration isn’t needed for report access.

4. TrueCaller – Multiple Phone Number Related Features (Affordable)

truecaller

TrueCaller is a safety app that identifies incoming callers, their spam/scam probability, and blocks dangerous numbers, among other features, of course.

Its number lookup function is located in the app. Just write the number in the search bar, and TrueCaller will show you the name and carrier/number type.

You can also do it on the website, but you will have to make an account, which is also TrueCaller’s biggest disadvantage.

The app is a little tricky to set up (I recommend you watch a tutorial!), as opposed to SpyDialer’s no-registration, hassle-free policy.

5. USPhoneBook – Great for US Number Lookups (Free)

The USPhoneBook reverse number lookup service is similar to SpyDialer in many ways: they both identify American callers without a dime!

The key difference is USPhoneBook’s optional reports that contain in-depth details on numbers found through people-search sites like Spokeo or BeenVerified.

Unlocking them is optional; you pay the third-party services’ original prices.

USPhoneBook uncovers more details than SpyDialer by default: names/aliases, past and current addresses, number details, associated people, and more.

Personally, I’m not a fan of theUSPhoneBook geo-restrictions since it’s US-based, but if you’re from the USA and searching a +1 number, give it a go.

6. WhitePages – US-Based, People & Number Search (Paid)

whitepages

WhitePages is a people-search service that works for US citizens only, so if you use it for a reverse phone lookup, the number has to have a +1 code.

It has data on over 250 million callers, including their name, location, and phone number specifications (VoIP status and carrier company).

My favorite thing about WhitePages is its flexible pricing – there are 4 main plans and the occasional $1 trial that’s valid for 5 days.

  • Premium Contact Info ➡️ $5.99
  • Premium Business ➡️ $10.99
  • Premium Business Enterprise➡️ $119.99
  • Background Report➡️ $11.99

Different tiers have different perks, and you usually get more if you pay more on WhitePages. If you’re a company owner, the business plans will get you a bang for your buck!

7. ThatsThem – Basic Number Lookup Info (Free)

ThatsThem is a completely free people-search engine with a reverse phone lookup function that can be used instead of SpyDialer.

It’s great for finding basic information on a caller, so expect to find out the location, carrier company, and line type, but nothing more.

ThatsThem occasionally finds the number owner’s name, but don’t bet on it because the results come up missing or inaccurate at times.

If you want a more reliable number report, the site pushes you to transfer your search over to Spokeo. It is an optional step, though!

What’s the Best Free vs. Paid SpyDialer Alternative?

The best free & paid SpyDialer alternatives are those that return plenty of correct results and are worth the pay.

🆓 Which free SpyDialer alternative is the best?

Price is of the essence in SpyDialer’s case, and if you want to continue with a free search, go for tools that give satisfactory results for completely free.

  • USPhoneBook
  • ThisNumber

I don’t recommend carrying out your search on a service that promises it’s fully free, and then forces you to pay for better results.

💵 What SpyDialer alternatives are worth paying for?

To pick the best paid alternatives, remember these two things:

  1. The tool needs to be budget-friendly (if you want to cut down on costs).
  2. Effectiveness needs to be high.

CatfishNumr is the best example if you need a couple of number lookups; if you’re looking for a monthly subscription, WhitePages is the way to go.

And of course, make sure that whatever lookup tool you decide on works for the country of the number you’re reverse-searching!
